Exhibiting companies and visitors will taste sector’s roots at the leisure-business space in the wine route stand.

The 60th edition will promote FMY’s origins and versatility with a young soul

FMY comes with a young soul. This 60th edition’s leitmotiv takes its inspiration from the wisdom, fresh talent, innovation, design, creativity and professionalism which features our exhibitor companies’ commitment with their products, novelties and, especially, towards their customer care and service quality.

The event underlines its experience and versatility. Over the years, the event has become an unmissable event in the sector’s trade fair calendar, bringing together thousands of professionals who wish to discover the trends in the habitat sector displayed by the exhibiting companies.

    An event full of personality

A unique, lively and dynamic event, continually on the move. The exhibition centre 17,000 m2 will become habitat and natural space for professionals in the sector.  Each stand in use together with our trade fair participants, will arouse your senses. The upholstery textures, colour ranges, furniture design, comfort and relaxation, along with services and advanced technology at the service and care of people, will provide the perfect setting.

Having a short break between business meetings and customer service to get a taste of the sector’s roots in the leisure-business space will be feasible.  We are talking about the connection between wine and furniture worlds.

FMY has its own life story. We can get to know it if we look back to the past and look forward to the sector’s present and future. Our furniture sector was born out of vineyards planted on the Altiplano of Yecla, as a result of vine cultivation collapse in France in 1878.  The sector’s artisanal origins date back to the cart builders or “locally known as aperadores” and the coopers.  The disentailment and the massive felling of pine trees, which led to the introduction of mechanical sawmills and the beginning of an incipient table and chair manufacturing industry, also contributed to this situation.

As a result, timber-related trades were specialised: carpenters, woodworkers, blacksmiths, cabinetmakers, upholsterers, furniture shops and ancillary industries. These were the real roots that helped to develop the business sector.  A constantly evolving sector which, in 1962, 60 years ago, celebrated its first official exhibition called “Feria Provincial del Mueble e Industrias Afines” (Provincial Furniture and Related Industries Fair).  A history and origin that places FMY and the furniture cluster on the domestic and international sphere.

An exquisite networking spot provided by FMY and Wine Route

For this 60th edition, the FMY and Yecla Wine Route have designed a stand that creates a warmer and more relaxed atmosphere. A place where exhibitors can relax and chat with their clients while tasting wines from the Yecla D.O., enjoying some time to take a break and recharge their batteries.  The wine tasting area is available every day of the event between 12:00 to 1:00 pm.

Tastings will be held every afternoon from 5:00 to 6:00 pm by various wineries from the Yecla Wine Route. This will create a meeting place where exhibitor companies and professional visitors can build loyalty and establish professional relationships while savouring the sector’s roots and origins.

Something that characterises our exhibitor firms as well as the event itself is how easy it is to set up personal relationships with customers who visit us. In result, we establish good business relations. Besides, thanks to being close to the production centres of many of our exhibitor companies, it is possible to get first-hand knowledge of how the sector’s products are manufactured.

The FMY will become a great showcase visited by thousands of professionals for four days, from 24th to 27th May. It will once again prove that this is a growing, ambitious sector, with a young spirit and great potential.
