On that occasion, the dates were brought forward from September to May in order to improve attendance figures and make it easier for visitors to attend. The president of the Fair’s executive committee, and mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño, made an assessment of the Fair, saying that “there is unanimity in expressing that moving the dates has been beneficial”.

11:00 Official Inauguration of Yecla Furniture Fair with the attendance of the President of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, and the president of the Executive Committee of the Yecla Furniture Fair and mayor of the town, Marcos Ortuño.
This important edition commemorates the centenary of the Bauhaus school, the basis for what is known today as graphic and industrial design. Guided by the winners of the contest issued by the Official School of Interior Designers and Decorators of the Region of Murcia (CODID), the fairground will welcome the attendants with a game of colours and symmetries highlighted by a collage of colourful carpets of clearly Plasticist inspiration, as a Mondrian picture, over which will also be found the abstraction of a house where a commemorative poster exhibition that goes through the Yecla Furniture Fair could be enjoyed.
9:05 – 12:00 Live radio broadcast of Onda Regional programme “MURyCÍA” from the fairground. Presented by Miguel Massotti and Marta Ferrero, they will interview important personalities related to the sector throughout the morning.
12:30 – 14:00 Live radio broadcast of the programme “La mañana de COPE Yecla” every day of the fair, from 7th to 10th. Presented by Olga Herrero, they will interview exhibitors and will inform about the development of the fair throughout the morning.

The official School of Interior Designers and Decorators of the Region of Murcia (CODID) organises a roundtable discussion where the participants will give their personal and professional view, based on their own experience, about the present and future of retail commercial spaces. It will be done at the “Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia (INFO)” (Institute for the Promotion of the Region of Murcia) , D20, with the following schedule:
