HAS MORE THAN 60 HOTEL PROJECTS SPREAD ALL OVER THE WORLD

Yecla Furniture Fair (FMY) will host, as part of the 62nd edition, the visit of one of the most prestigious architects in the world within the contract sector, the Italian Paolo Mauri, who will conduct a masterclass on the development of this kind of projects focused on the hotel industry.

This one-off opportunity, for which there are still places available and which is aimed especially at professionals, will take place in three sessions on 28, 29 and 30 May. Anyone interested in participating can register by sending an e-mail to info@feriayecla.com. Paolo Mauri, with more than 60 hotel projects around the world, has chosen for this masterclass the title ‘How to make a successful hotel project. Challenges and solutions for interior design and equipment projects’. Over the course of three sessions, he will reveal the keys to success in this sort of project.

The first of the conferences is entitled ‘Do you want to win a hotel project? Learn how to do it step by step’, and in it the Italian architect will define what a hotel project is, will give the keys to identify the different actors involved in it, will talk about interior design and equipment, the key points to successfully bid a project (planning and action scenarios), will illustrate the differences between a chain project and a particular one, and will talk about the key points to get the most out of the interview and the initial briefing.

On the second day, he will explain the method for successfully presenting a hotel project, as well as the keys to coordinating and managing multidisciplinary teams: keys to creative brain storming, materials and presentation methods, interior design vs. architecture and engineering, interior design vs. project management, creativity and functionality, project viability and cost analysis.

On the third day, Paolo Mauri will discuss how to ensure the success of the project with the necessary resources and tools: team leadership, how to build a network of reliable suppliers and professional collaborators, keys to the choice of materials and equipment, management of a hotel project, resources and changes, and project monitoring: tenders, execution, site visits, minutes.

Paolo Mauri: Great aesthetic sense with sober and refined taste

Paolo Mauri is an Italian architect who has been living and working in Madrid since 1997. He began his professional career by forging close links with the world of Milanese design, acquiring a wealth of experience in the field of luxury furnishings which, along with his great sensitivity for aesthetics, a sober and elegant taste and style, typical of the academic culture in which he has been trained, enabled him to land in the Spanish capital with a broad professional background, focused on interior design and high-level furnishings.

After an enriching experience in an English multinational working in office design for large multinationals (DEGW 1997-1998), Paolo Mauri entered the hotel world ‘through the front door’, joining Meliá Hotels International and in parallel CRH, a reference company in hotel projects at that time (1999).

His first hotel project was the first hotel owned by the Meliá chain in Europe, the Meliá Milán hotel (4*-288 rooms, 1999-2001). Since then, he has developed his career in Madrid, working in the realm of hotels, liaising with major hotel chains and business groups, international investment funds, and working on projects in almost every continent (Europe, Middle East, Latin America).
