The Official Association of Commercial Agents (COAC) celebrates its partnership with the fair at the traditional Commercial Agent’s Day, a meeting which has served to acknowledge the careers of its members
A WORKSHOP LEAD BY THE RENOWNED EXPERT DAVID CÁMARA
The 62nd edition of the Yecla Furniture Fair, which officially kicked off on Tuesday by the President of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, and the President of the Yecla Furniture Fair (FMY) Executive Committee and Mayoress of Yecla, Remedios Lajara, has celebrated another important event on its second day, the ‘International Contract Day. Collaborative strategies for internationalisation’.
Coordinated by the renowned international specialist David Cámara, director of the Habitat Business Association, its internationalisation and Contract (UNEX) and Commissioner of the Contract Plan for the Region of Murcia, the meeting, organised by the Development Institute of the Region of Murcia (Info) and the Yecla Furniture Fair (FMY), has attracted all the interest of the Leisure/Business area.
The event, which involved an impressive panel of professionals, provided the keys to boosting the international presence of companies in the Contract Channel, as well as promoting the meeting and connection of leaders in project management and purchasing, thus opening the door to new collaboration and expansion opportunities.
The panellists were María Caravantes, from Requena y Plaza; Sergio Sánchez, from Ezlo Architects; Miguel Colomo and Pablo Arboleya, from We Are Furtivo; Alberto Martínez, from Venture Experience; Giordano Baly, from Giordano Baly Arquitecto; Marc Solà Sanchis, from PhiBa Architecture; and María Iniesto Moreno, from Mariano Farrugia.

International delegations attending the event
On the other hand, the international delegations, who have arrived thanks to the trade missions promoted by the Development Institute (INFO) of the Region of Murcia, have been in Yecla from the first day of the event. In particular, during the opening day they were able to visit the fair and the participating firms’ stands, while today, Wednesday, they travelled to several Yecla cluster production centres, which they had previously selected through the fair’s website for a visit to their facilities.
These prescriptors and customers come from the international markets that have been selected for this year’s trade missions: Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Scandinavia, United Kingdom, Norway and Finland. These international visitors have received a dossier containing the contact details of the exhibitors taking part in the 62nd edition of the fair to enable them to become potential customers.

Commercial Agent’s Day
On this second day, one of the most well-established traditions of the Yecla event has also taken place: the Commercial Agent’s Day. This is an annual meeting that is held to acknowledge the partnership that the FMY has maintained with commercial agents specialising in the furniture sector since the 1970s and their professional association (COAC), a relationship which makes them a ‘loudspeaker’ of the distinctive value that the Yecla Furniture Fair offers.
Thus, the COAC stand has acknowledged the professional career of two of its members: Pedro José Bautista Santa, from Yecla, and Miguel Escribano Pardo, from Murcia. The recognitions were handed by Remedios Lajara, president of the Executive Committee of the FMY and mayoress of Yecla, and Juan Miguel Zornoza, director of the event.
The ceremony was also an opportunity to award the three commercial agents who have led the number of professional visitor registrations for this 62nd edition. A recognition that is part of a new campaign launched by the fair this year with the agency 2 Veces Marketing (2VM). The goal is to encourage registrations and to reward a group of professionals ‘key’ in the development and growth of the FMY, since the commercial agents of furniture are ‘the best prescribers’ of both the fair itself and the companies that participate in it every year.
