TRAINING AND INNOVATION COME BACK TO YECLA

In this 63rd edition of the Yecla Furniture Fair (FMY), alongside the trade and networking activities that will take place at the fairground from 27th to 30th May, two international meetings on the Contract industry will be held, one coordinated by David Cámara and the second led by the renowned architect Paolo Mauri.

The first meeting, International Contract Day, will deal with the strategic markets of proximity in the furniture industry: Morocco, the UK and Portugal. To participate, you only have to fill the form at this link.

This meeting will delve into the key concepts, challenges and opportunities that such trade horizons present. Promoted by the Instituto de Fomento (INFO) and coordinated in collaboration with David Cámara head of Unex, Commissioner of the Contract Plan of the Region of Murcia and pioneer of the Canal Contract in Spain and Latin America/the Caribbean, the meeting will also host a panel of experts who will share strategies, know-how and experiences regarding the Contract industry specifically.

Rocio and Claudio Escarpenter (CCCRA Architects & Engineers), Catalina Arciniegas (Chris Turner Procurement), Anas El Kharras and Zineb Larhlid (The Great Hospitality) will highlight the strategic relevance of geographically close markets that maintain strong connections with equally interesting but furthest markets, such as the Caribbean and the Middle East, both of which will attend the Mediterranean Contract Forum.

The event will take place on 28th May in the Leisure/Business Area of the FMY, starting at 10:30. The fair institution describes it as a “unique opportunity to gain a balanced positioning in key markets and boost business development”.

‘CONTRACT, INTERIOR DESIGN AND HOTEL EQUIPMENT’ BY PAOLO MAURI

On 28th and 29th May, the second edition of the “Contract, Interior Design and Hotel Equipment” meeting will take place, once again in the Leisure/Business Area of the FMY. As last year, it will be led by the renowned architect Paolo Mauri. The masterclass will be structured in four intensive sessions with a total duration of six hours. To participate, register here.

Paolo Mauri is an Italian architect, specialised in interior design and hotel equipment, with over 25 years of experience and more than 80 projects, carried out for such hotel chains as Meliá, Hilton, Radisson, Barceló, NH, Accor and Vincci. Educated at the Politecnico di Milano and based in Madrid since 1997, he has headed various multidisciplinary teams in major hotel projects on both national and international levels.

His masterclass will focus on developing and managing an entire hotel project, from the conceptual proposal to its execution and final delivery. Mauri will provide a real and practical perspective on how to successfully carry out interior design and hotel equipment projects.

Participants will gain expertise in handling multidisciplinary teams, strategically planning each step of the workflow, optimising relations with clients and suppliers, and presenting creative projects that meet the highest quality, pricing and sustainability standards. This meeting is supported by the Instituto de Fomento of the Region of Murcia, as well as Aretha and Jover, which sponsorship confirms their ongoing commitment to the Contract industry.
