FMY 61st Edition: Murcia’s habitat travels to international markets

The 61st edition of the Yecla Furniture Fair will be the most international with 3 trade missions.

THE HABITAT OF MURCIA WILL TRAVEL TO STRATEGIC MARKETS SUCH AS BELGIUM AND THE NETHERLANDS TO PROMOTE THE FMY AND ATTRACT PROFESSIONAL CLIENTS.

Thanks to INFO, which has redoubled its efforts to internationalise the Fair, importers from Benelux, Italy, Portugal and Morocco will visit Yecla.

The 61st Yecla Furniture Fair (FMY), from 23 to 26 May, will become the most international edition thanks to the celebration of three trade missions (two on-site and one virtual) that will promote the event in strategic markets such as Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy, Portugal, Morocco, France, Germany and Mexico.

In this sense, the Fair wishes to highlight all the work carried out by the Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia (INFO), which this year has redoubled its efforts to project this 61st edition internationally, thus attracting a greater number of professional visitors to the Yecla exhibition centre.

This commitment to internationalisation, to put Murcian furniture and the city of Yecla itself on the world map, has been intensified in recent months by the Executive Committee of the FMY. This year they also wanted the slogan of the 61st edition, ‘Up close’, to refer to everything that visitors can find within a few kilometres: the 500 companies in the Yecla cluster, a fair of more than 20,000 m2 specialising in the habitat sector, an innovative industry as well as a great natural heritage and its rich gastronomy.

In this way, thanks to the strategic alliances that the event maintains with INFO and the Regional Association of Wood Entrepreneurs (AREMA), three trade missions with an international presence are scheduled for this edition: a ’round-trip’ mission, an inverse one and a third, which will be a virtual one.

ROUND-TRIP’ TRADE MISSION TO THE BENELUX COUNTRIES

The visit to these strategic European markets will take place from 8 to 11 May, thanks to the work of INFO who has organised a ’round-trip’ trade mission to Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg) to boost sales in the furniture, upholstery, bedding and related sectors.

Firstly, a delegation of companies from Murcia will hold interviews with buyers and influencers from these countries and, subsequently, these professional clients from Benelux will be invited by INFO to visit the exhibitors stands participating in the 61st edition of the fair and the city of Yecla itself.

The main objective of this mission is to attract professional customers from these countries to visit the fair, but also to introduce and consolidate Murcian furniture companies in these markets.

VIRTUAL TRADE MISSION AND INVERSE TRADE MISSION

A second trade mission, in this case virtual, will serve to promote the furniture from Murcia, the fair itself and the city of Yecla in international markets such as France, Germany, Mexico, Italy, Portugal and Morocco. And through an inverse trade mission, several international delegations that previously participated in the virtual mission will also visit the 61st edition of the event in situ.

Finally, it should be noted that to help the dissemination and positioning of the event, the platform of the Yecla furniture Virtual Fair will not only serve to reach the entire domestic market, but also markets such as France, UK and Mexico. Through this tool, fifty companies have already expressed their intention to participate in the virtual edition.
